Aura — Terms of Service and Fair Use Policy
Last updated: October 29, 2026
Aura is an audio meeting service operated by Joe Green ("Aura," "we," "us").
Aura provides online audio meetings, webinars, and a private recording studio
at aura.joedgreen.com and studio.joedgreen.com. By creating an account or
using Aura, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use Aura.
1. Accounts
- You need an account to create or host a meeting, webinar, or studio
session. Guests may join open meetings and studio sessions without an
account, using the host's invite.
- When you register, Aura assigns you a personal nine-digit number. It is
yours while your account is active and does not change.
- Keep your password to yourself. You are responsible for activity under
your account. Tell us promptly if you believe your account has been
compromised.
- Provide an accurate display name. You may not register under another
person's name or impersonate anyone.
2. Hosts and participants
- The person who creates a room is its host and controls that room:
admitting or removing participants, muting, locking the room, starting or
stopping a recording, and ending the meeting for everyone. Hosts may
appoint co-hosts with the same powers except ending the meeting.
- Hosts are responsible for their rooms: for who they invite, for following
the recording rules in section 4, and for keeping their meetings within
these terms.
- Participants must follow the host's reasonable direction in the host's
room. A host may remove any participant from their own room.
3. Acceptable use
You may not use Aura to:
- Break the law, or help anyone else break the law.
- Harass, threaten, stalk, or intimidate any person.
- Impersonate any person or organization, or misrepresent who you are.
- Send spam, run scams, or collect other people's personal information
without their consent.
- Interfere with the service itself: probing or attacking the servers,
circumventing a ban, a block, a room lock, or a waiting room, creating
accounts or rooms automatically or in bulk, or anything that degrades
Aura for other users.
- Rejoin a room you were removed from, or an account you were banned from,
under a different name or account.
4. Recording and meeting notes
- Aura announces recording to everyone in the room, including people who
join while a recording is running. Hosts must not record in any way that
hides the recording from participants, and hosts are responsible for
complying with the recording and consent laws that apply to them and
their participants.
- Meeting notes (transcription and summaries) can only run while a
recording is running, and are announced the same way.
- Recordings are stored on Aura's server for 30 days and then deleted
automatically. Download anything you need to keep within that time.
- Aura Studio sessions are private recording sessions. Studio recordings
are delivered to the host and, where the host chooses, to the session's
guests.
5. Fair use
Aura is a small service run for real meetings, not an always-on line. To
keep it fast and affordable for everyone:
- A single meeting, webinar, or studio session may run for up to
8 hours of continuous time. Sessions that reach the limit are ended by
the system, with a warning announced in the room beforehand.
- The limit is also personal: each person may spend up to 8 hours in
Aura rooms per day (Pacific time), across all their meetings, webinars,
and studio sessions combined. When you reach your eight hours, you
cannot start or join another session until the next day. Accounts that
operate the service are exempt.
- Rooms are for live conversation. Do not leave a room running unattended
as a permanent open channel, a monitoring line, or a placeholder.
Sessions with no active speech for an extended period may be ended by
the operator after an in-room warning.
- Room sizes are limited to the capacity posted for each room type
(currently up to 20 in a meeting, 6 in a studio session). Webinar
attendance is limited to the capacity posted for the webinar.
- Recording storage is shared and capped. The 30-day automatic deletion in
section 4 applies to everyone; heavy recording use may be limited if it
threatens the storage available to other users.
- If your use is heavier than these limits allow, talk to us — limits can
be adjusted for a real need. Using Aura in a way that runs up cost or
crowds out other users without arranging it first is a breach of these
terms.
6. Enforcement
- Hosts enforce these terms inside their own rooms (remove, mute, lock,
block).
- The operator may, at any time and without prior notice where abuse is
ongoing: end a session, remove a participant, disable or delete an
account, ban an email address, or block a phone number or area code from
dial-in. Serious or repeated breaches lead to a permanent ban.
- Where it is reasonable, the operator will warn first and explain after.
Decisions about bans can be appealed by email to the address in
section 10.
7. Availability and changes to the service
- Aura is provided on a best-effort basis. It may be unavailable at times
for maintenance, upgrades, or reasons outside our control, and there is
no guarantee of uptime, call quality, or that recordings or notes will
succeed. Download and keep your own copies of anything important.
- Features may change, be added, or be removed. Where a change removes
something you rely on, we will try to give reasonable notice in the app
or by email.
8. Your content
- What you say and record in Aura belongs to you and the other
participants, not to Aura. By using the service you give Aura only the
permission needed to run the service: transmitting your audio, making
the recordings and notes a host requests, storing them for the periods
stated above, and delivering them to the people the host chooses.
- Aura does not sell your audio, recordings, transcripts, or personal
information.
9. Liability
- To the fullest extent the law allows, Aura is not liable for indirect or
consequential losses arising from use of the service, including lost
recordings, missed meetings, or the actions of other users. Nothing in
these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
10. Privacy and contact
- The Aura Privacy Policy at aura.joedgreen.com/privacy explains
what information Aura holds and how it is used. It is part of these
terms.
- Questions, problems, and ban appeals: contact Joe Green at
joe.derrick.green@gmail.com.
11. Changes to these terms
- These terms may be updated. The current version always lives at
aura.joedgreen.com/terms with its date at the top. Continuing to
use Aura after a change means you accept the updated terms. For a major
change, account holders will be told by email or in the app first.
